Ardans at La Fabrique on Knowledge Management
On June 16, 2022, the entire Ardans team welcomed its clients and the community of knowledge engineering enthusiasts and the software designed by Ardans Labs at La Fabrique in Paris.
The morning was dedicated to testimonials from TechnicAtome, IPC - the Industrial Technical Centre for Plastics and Composites -, Le Relais and Andra.
Presentation of knowledge management tools and methods
Ardans presented the latest developments in its methods and tools:
- The new version of Kalam® (Knowledge And Learning in Action Mapping) which enshrines the evolution of Jean-Yves Prax and Polia Consulting's method acquired in 2019, enriched by the feedback of Ardans consultants.
- The CoPBoK® (Community of Practice Body of Knowledge), which also formalizes the expertise developed by Jean-Yves Prax and Polia Consulting and those of Ardans consultants, is implemented in Ardans Knowledge Maker® (AKM) in order to become a living support device for CoP facilitators.
- The ELS (Expertise Locator System®), which exploits all the graphical power of AKM's KB-Scope® (the module for examining the knowledge base and the links between elements), offers a view of the expert resources in the organisations.
During the breaks, there was a lively exchange between the witnesses and the audience.
In the afternoon, two parallel activities took place; Ardans Labs demonstrations and a "Knowledge café" around ISO30401.
Ardans Labs demonstrations
The Ardans Labs demonstrations were on the following topics:
- Ardans Knowledge Maker® version 2022 and its latest features or modules (AKM Text®, AKM Loader®).
- The 2022 version of Ardans Information Maker®.
- Security implemented on Ardans Knowledge Maker® and Ardans Information Maker®.
- Development according to the "Model Driven Architecture".
Knowledge Café questions
The questions that structured the Knowledge Café were:
- Is it possible to measure the effectiveness of a KM?
- Are indicators needed to assess a KM process (follow-up, performance, dissemination...)?
- At what point can a mapping of useful (strategic) knowledge be used?
- Is it necessary to capitalise on knowledge in order to transfer it ?
- Is your vision more "Chief Knowledge Officer" or "Knowledge Managers" oriented?
- Are there ways to sustain the commitment of employees to contribute to the SKM?
- One of the milestones in the implementation of an SKM is the establishment of a KM culture: what does this look like for you?
