ALTIR

This health establishment is an organization dedicated to the creation of small structures of dialysis in Lorraine making the place of treatment closer to the patients' home. ALTIR has got an education center allowing the patients to learn how to be independant for their treatment.

With its 185 employees: doctors, nurses and caregivers, the ALTIR manage the medical and technical care related to the dialysis.

Challenges

  • The obligation introduced by the 04/24/1996 law: the ALTIR being an health establishment working in the area of the process of certification (accreditation) define by te HAS (French National Authority for Health) on the theme of the professional practice evaluation.
    • The care delivered to the patients lay on an intrigate setup composed of many process in relation with each other, various jobs and in perpetual evolution. Moreover, the quality of their results is difficult to apprehend.
    • Seeing the amout of diversity in the practices, with an unfortunate gap between the state of the health knowledge and the reality of the practice, the lead of an action of improvement toward a target defined by the data must be lead according to a rigorous methodology and with mesured results.
    • The goal is indeed to improve the quality of the medical care.
  • In order to achieve this action the administration enumerated 15 methods usable depending on the ongoing objectives and the best way to deal with it.

Operation

The ALTIR decided to establish an indicator of quality linked to the accreditation of hospitals from checked medical references.

The method of engeneering of the knowledge Ardans make is rooted in the tool Ardans Knowledge Maker® include a cycle of collection in Ω really effective to gather what the users of ALTIR are doing.

The ability of the device to modelize helped to translate the accreditation requestion into a quotation.

The length of progress for the process is therefore identified.

Solution

  • Training to the method and to its adaptation set up in the tool.
  • After initial support, ALTIR formalises procedures, indicators and follow-up actions based on validated medical recommendations
  • Implementation of the Ardans Knowledge Maker tool to position, measure and qualify the establishment in the process, capitalise on knowledge relating to good practice, and disseminate it to staff and patients.
  • The creation of a collective, constructive and consensual dynamic of progress on the profession.
