Objectives of the course

ARDANS, expert in knowledge management, offers you the KM training "Initialisation to knowledge transfer". The upcoming departure of a member of your staff (retirement, transfer...) or of an expert in your field, encourages you to set up a knowledge transfer process. This training course provides the essential elements and tools to successfully carry out this transfer.

The purpose of this training offered by Ardans is to teach you to identify the different types of knowledge, their criticality and to make them explicit in order to anticipate, for example, a retirement or a transfer. The objective of this knowledge transfer training is to provide you with the essential tools to ensure that the departure of a person with critical knowledge is carried out under the best possible conditions.

This two-day course is intended for business experts or anyone who wants to learn how to transfer their knowledge.

How the course is run

The KM training offered by Ardans covers the following elements:

Day 1

Supporting the learner in identifying the knowledge and know-how to be transmitted

Reminder of the business context
Awareness of :
- the importance of his/her background-color
- the existence of tacit knowledge, i.e. "what is not written down
How to identify the themes (business subjects) and content concerning the field
How to self-assess the criticality of the knowledge (choice of criteria and scale for assessing the said criteria with the customisable grid)

Day 2

Preparing the knowledge transfer plan

How to prepare the actual transmission
Putting yourself in a position to pass on (mentoring, companionship, etc.)
Determine your transmission objectives and your transmission plans
Identifying transmission media (formats, vectors, site visits)
Learning to pass on
What common language with the future learner? Cultural and language barriers? Identification of possible pitfalls related to translation
Setting up indicators to monitor the transmission
