Knowledge capitalization models

As part of our knowledge management services, we offer our expertise in structuring business domains.

After a review of a few key documents on the domain and a discussion meeting with experts and/or specialists in the business, our consultants identify the main types of knowledge in the business domain and propose a suitable structure for each type of knowledge that will be formalised during the collection stage. Once the models have been identified, an architecture is proposed and defined, in particular the links between models are described.

We will thus find links of justification, reference, configuration (is a part of) or categorisation (is a kind of) for example.

At the same time, the concepts used to describe the business are identified and organised into a business repository. A model is given, often in the form of a tree structure, by formalising the obvious conceptual relationships that exist. These concepts will, for example, be relevant to a domain application(s) or to describe objects in sets and sub-sets. Subsequently, the community using these concepts validates the terms used to refer to these concepts, this is the stage of building the common language and validating the corresponding vocabulary. These organised concepts will be used to reference each of the elements of knowledge collected, and each element may be referenced several times if necessary.

In this way, you benefit from a model developed for the business and validated by people in the business. The structured and organised knowledge elements, correctly referenced, will thus collect the most important knowledge, whether key or crucial, of your business.
