The French national radioactive waste management agency, ANDRA, is asked by the government to put in motion and assure safe solutions of management for all the radioactive waste, in order to protect the actual and the future generation from the risk that these waste represent. In its mission, an activity is to classify all the radioactive substance and waste produced in France (amount, location, projected amount). The Law makes the national inventory produced by ANDRA the reference for all the studies and researches led in the setting of the French national plan for the radioactive substance and waste management (PNGMDR).

ANDRA has a reference knowledge anout the waste and the packaging of waste, already produced or to be produced, in which is built different exercises (studies, choice of sector, inventory) while ensuring the consistency of these exercises. The reference platform, called "Fundamental knowledge", keeps tab on the choices retained, whether it is for the description of a scenario, for the waste conditionning, as well as the evolution of these hypothesis. OSCAR is the application that equip the set up of the « Fundamental knowledge » on the families of waste, conditionned or not. |
To achieve the studies exploiting all or only a part of the knowledge, the amount of information considered is strictly incompatible with a classical paper document. Furthermore, as the knowledge is used in an electronic way, it is particularly precious to have directly these elements of knowledge on an immediatly exploitable format for the teams in charge of the engeneering studies (i.e. files in format Microsoft Excel). The principle is that the production of a new publication of OSCAR would be followed by the extraction of the knowledge toward the REBECCA e-K.book® : the electronical delivery. REBECCA offers the access to the knowledge (= data + situation) extracted by the mean of an intuitive interface. The ergonomics of the browsing is based on the icons which guide the user toward the table of contents (with the thematics: containers, wraps,...), its redirection leading to the files and their associated records.
